Representatives from Malaysia Looking
to Partner with The World Business Exchange Network
To Promote International Business and Education for Students
Los Angeles, CA (December 30, 2003) - Representatives from Malaysia recently visited the World Business Exchange Network (www.wbe.net) of Los Angeles in an effort to expand international trade opportunities in Asia and to look into implementing the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course Curriculum for Students.
The four-week project titled “Working for Peaceful Change” sponsored two participants to introduce them to companies that exemplify excellence in business and the influence these companies have on the business community, the government, and politics. The WBE.NET was selected as the company to introduce various ways the international trade arena works.
“This was truly a momentous occasion to know that my organization was selected as one of the companies to introduce what we are doing to promote international trade, not only in America but overseas as well,” said Roosevelt Roby, President and CEO of the World Business Exchange Network. “Hopefully this will mark the beginning of a prosperous future between my organization and Malaysia,” said Roby.
WBE(www.wbe.net) is the first on-line trade association designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with an opportunity to set up trade deals with various buyers and sellers from all over the world. Through its central on-line data-base WBE receives up to the minute information on trade leads from people in countries requesting products from America. The organization has over 50,000 members and the company has developed a curriculum approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District to teach this on-line trade course to high school students.
“We are looking to partner with WBE in an effort to expand their business in Asia,” said Nur Mohd Ezan Taib, Secretary General for UMNO Youth Malaysia International Affairs Bureau.
“It is interesting to see how WBE is dedicated to educating people on the importance of world trade on the global economy and that is why we see this as an opportunity for people in Eastern Asia, and China to learn about this as well,” he said.
Taib also said they are looking to expand the WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course Curriculum to students in Asia and China next year when the International Trade Minister of Malaysia is expected to sign a trade treaty with the U.S. and Commerce Secretary in Washington, D.C.
“Together we can penetrate into the Chinese market which requires American and Malaysian products and services,” said Taib. “If we can get this program in our country and into the hands of our educational system, I think this will help create more trading power for everyone including the students,” said Taib.
The WBE.NET Global Internet Trade Course For Students is a school-to-career curriculum designed to teach students about the importance of world trade and the affect it has on the global economy. Students who take the course are trained in entrepreneurship and are exposed to buyers and sellers from all over the world looking to purchase American products. The course helps students improve in regular academic course work and prepares them for careers in international trade.
